Come join us for a wonderful showcase of Muslim artists and Islamic art. Presented in conjunction with the City of Vaughan's Festival Hub for Culture Days 2023, the Organization for Islamic Learning is proud to showcase Muslim artists from aroud the GTA. One day only: Saturday 14 October 2023 from 1:30pm–4:30pm. Doors open at 1:15pm for check-in . Schedule1:15–1:30pm Registration1:30–2:30pm Formal presentations2:30–4:00pm Browse the exhibition, meet the artists and enjoy some refreshments1:30–4:30pm Henna artist on site. Henna art available by donation, with all donations going directly to the Organization for Islamic LearningRegistration is mandatory. Sign up at Eventbrite and bring your eticket (with its QR code) with you to the event. Register early for a chance to win one complimentary henna art application.Please note, all ages are welcome, however we insist that children under six are accompanied at all times during the exhibition given the valuable and delicate nature of the art on display. We appreciate your cooperation. Food and Drink:Snacks and refreshments will be served at the event in a designated area. Please do not eat or drink where any art is exhibited. Please do not carry food or drink out of the eating area and into the main exhibition hall at all. The name on the exterior of the building is “The David Braley Vaughan Metropolitan Centre of Community.” There are two entrances to our building:West entrance: this is the main floor lobby entrance off of Butter Mill Rd (across the old Walmart). There is a big “Y” (as in YMCA logo on the wall as a point of reference).East entrance: this is near to the VMC bus terminal off of Millway Ave.Parking: Paid parking available at Vaughan TTC commuter lotPaid parking also available street sideImportant: Photographs and video will be taken at the event and may be shared on our website and/or our social media platforms. By attending, members of the public consent to being photographed and having their image shared on our website and on social media. Volunteers Wanted: OIL is seeking volunteers to help in different areas during all days of the 11-day program. Your assistance is truly appreciated. At the end of each September, millions of people attend thousands of free participatory arts and culture events across the country both in-person and online.
