Milk Educational Program - Fall 2023/Winter 2024

Screenings and workshops for families and professionals with the support of filmblanc and the Telus Fund through the fall of 2023 and winter 2024. Events are free to participants, but pre-registration is required.

"Through an intimate and artistic lens, Milk brings a universal perspective on the politics, commercialization and controversies surrounding birth and infant feeding over the canvas of stunningly beautiful visuals and poignant voices from around the globe."Along with the Community Health and Well-Being Centre, <a href="https://safelyfed.ca/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">SafelyFed Canada </a>is presenting a free screening of Milk alongside a 90 minute for professionals who work with families.This 90 minute workshop is for healthcare professionals and other service providers. A screening and workshop for community members will be held the same evening - please contact the Health and Well-Being team for details. We have applied for 1.5 CERPS from IBCLE - approval is pending. Topics include:- Skills for emergency breastfeeding support- Remediation of lactation problems during response &amp; recovery- Practical advocacy for IYCF-E preparedness &amp; response: donations- How industry influence makes your job harder and less effective- Identify how you and your organization are targeted for influence- Practical steps to address conflict of interest and improve careIf you are attending from outside the community and plan to share in the lunch provided by the Community Health and Well-Being Centre, please add the lunch option to support our host.<a href="https://safelyfed.ca/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/MILK-Poster-Tyendinaga.pdf" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Poster</a>
