Tafelmusik at the Garden: Divertimento

Toronto Botanical Garden connects people to plants and inspires us to live in harmony with nature. Our gardens conveniently located in mid-Toronto are open daily from dawn until dusk, and admission is free. The gardens seemlessly connect with Edwards Gardens, Wilket Creek and the Don Valley Ravine. We also offer year-round learning opportunities for all ages both inperson and online.

Showcasing the three lowest members of the string family

The music presented in this concert is centred around the musical genre of the “divertimento,” from the Italian divertire “to amuse.” This often light-hearted music was frequently played at social functions, sometimes outdoors, bringing people together to delight and revel in the antics of the performers.
