I﻿N CASE OF RAIN THIS OCT 22 AT 1PM WE WILL SPEND A LARGE PORTION OF TIME IN MCGILL LIBRARY TO SHARE AND RECORD OUR THOUGHTS ON CANCER AWARENESSO﻿n Sunday Oct 22nd at 1pm we will have our 2nd and last breast cancer awareness walk and social event. Where we will:1﻿) Meet at McGill University Roddick Gates2﻿) Introduce ourselves and speak of our connection with cancer or cancer research3﻿) Perform a 2 kilometer walk together4﻿) Members will be interviewed and record their testimonies of why cancer awareness is important to them5﻿) Socialize, have snacks and play soccer or badminton as members wishB﻿elow is an image of participants of our previous event on Oct 1st, 2023 we are hoping to expand our numbers and have testimonies recorded to increase awareness of breast cancer.B﻿elow is a map of the tentative 2km walk path and an image of McGill Roddick gatesAwareness of breast cancer is important as it can enable early detection of tumors if people decide to get checked by their doctor, and because awareness increases donations of blood, organs or funds to hospitals and cancer centers as well as because awareness encourages unity of all people.Global News is in support of our cause: https://globalnews.ca/event/10006597/breast-cancer-walk/ _﻿_________________________________________ Français _____________________________________________EN CAS DE PLUIE CE 22 OCTOBRE À 13H00, NOUS PASSERONS UNE GRANDE PARTIE DE TEMPS À LA BIBLIOTHÈQUE MCGILL POUR PARTAGER ET ENREGISTRER NOS RÉFLEXIONS SUR LA SENSIBILISATION AU CANCERLe dimanche 22 octobre à 13 heures, nous aurons notre 2e et dernier événement social et marche de sensibilisation au cancer du sein. Où nous allons :1﻿) Rendez-vous à l'Université McGill Roddick Gates2﻿) Nous présenter et parler de notre lien avec le cancer ou la recherche sur le cancer3﻿) Effectuer une marche de 2 kilomètres ensemble4﻿) Les membres seront interviewés et enregistreront leurs témoignages sur les raisons pour lesquelles la sensibilisation au cancer est importante pour eux.5﻿) Socialiser, prendre des collations et jouer au football ou au badminton selon le souhait des membresVous trouverez ci-dessous une image des participants à notre précédent événement du 1er octobre 2023. Nous espérons augmenter notre nombre et enregistrer des témoignages pour accroître la sensibilisation au cancer du sein.Vous trouverez ci-dessous une carte du sentier de randonnée provisoire de 2 km et un image de "Roddick Gates"La sensibilisation au cancer du sein est importante car elle peut permettre une détection précoce des tumeurs si les personnes décident de se faire examiner par leur médecin, et parce que la sensibilisation augmente les dons de sang, d'organes ou de fonds aux hôpitaux et aux centres de lutte contre le cancer, ainsi que parce que la sensibilisation encourage l'unité de tous.L﻿ien Global News: https://globalnews.ca/event/10006597/breast-cancer-walk/
