SCY is a unique provincial child rights organization with a mission to promote the full realization of children’s rights in BC through advocacy, education, and community engagement. For 45 years, the Society has focused on providing a strong voice representing children and youth and advocating for their well‐being. Using the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) as a foundation, SCY has a track record of creating and delivering programs that have motivated change in legislation, policy, and practice in BC and across Canada. Most recently, in November 2017, we opened the SCY Child and Youth Legal Centre, through which we provide free legal services to young people across the province.www.scyofbc.org

Meraloma Club

On National Child Day, join the Society for Children and Youth of BC for an evening celebrating the advancement if children's rights in BC, complete with food, trivia, and a silent auction. Each year this event helps raise awareness of critical issues for children and youth and funds that sustain our work.A Night for Rights will be hosted in-person at the historic Meraloma Club in Kitsilano, Vancouver. This year, we are excited to unveil a reimagined version of the celebration complete with fun activities, such as trivia and guest speakers — promising an unforgettable evening in support of a meaningful cause. Your ticket will include a burger and a beer, as well as entry to participate in the trivia portion of the evening.In conjunction with our event, we will be hosting a Silent Auction online from November 13th to 21st - you do not need to be a ticket holder to participate!
