Wonders of Winterland: Dance+Circus at the Garden

Toronto Botanical Garden connects people to plants and inspires us to live in harmony with nature. Our gardens conveniently located in mid-Toronto are open daily from dawn until dusk, and admission is free. The gardens seemlessly connect with Edwards Gardens, Wilket Creek and the Don Valley Ravine. We also offer year-round learning opportunities for all ages both inperson and online.

Get ready for a one-of-a-kind immersive experience at the Toronto Botanical Garden. This captivating full-length circus show features aerial silks, straps, trapeze, dance, and acrobatics. Extraordinary performances are brought to life by Toronto's top aerial artists from Artists' Play Dance and Circus Arts professional troupe, showcasing their remarkable skills and mesmerizing original acts. Guests will be transported to an enchanting winter garden, witnessing breathtaking displays of strength, grace, and artistry. Performances will take place indoors. Suitable for all ages. ABOUT ARTISTS' PLAY DANCE AND CIRCUS ARTSArtists’ Play Dance and Circus Arts offer dance and circus classes in Leslieville and Riverdale. Dancers can enjoy recreational or competitive classes in beautiful professional studios. From the budding little dancer in mighty moves or creative movement to the aspiring performance artist in ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, tap, acro, circus and aerial silks. Artists’ Play School of Dance instills the love of dance and aerial arts with fun and safe training.Founder and Artistic Director, Elizabeth Dawn SnellA professional dancer, aerialist, choreographer, and instructor in Toronto, Elizabeth is the Artistic Director and founder of Artists’ Play School of Dance. Recently, Elizabeth has been featured as an aerialist with Hit &amp; Run Dance Productions, Disney, La Rouge Entertainment, and Zero Gravity Circus.Elizabeth was trained classically at the Brandon School of Dance, The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and was mentored by Arnold Spohr. After training in Jazz, Modern, and Contemporary at JazzArt, Grant MacEwan, and the Banff Center of Fine Arts, she then went on to graduate from the George Brown Dance Diploma Program where she studied under Ballet Jorgen. She has been training with aerial mentors in and around Toronto. Elizabeth continues to educate herself as an instructor and performer through various professional development programs.Elizabeth has toured England with Parahumans Dance Theatre, where she facilitated workshops for children in public schools. She has also worked for Arts for Children in public schools and was the dance instructor in the AFC Arts Adventure camp in 2007, besides creating and directing her own performing arts summer school. She has choreographed many musicals in high schools and created in-depth performances for her students to perform at community events such as public school fun fairs, the Riverside BIA’s events, and large-scale year-end performances for her own school.
