<h1>Discover the Métis Culture with SIA&#x27;s Tea Time Event!</h1>Join us for an exciting Tea Time where we delve into the vibrant world of Métis culture and storytelling! Immerse yourself in the captivating traditions of the Métis people as we explore their rich heritage and history.Through interactive sessions and engaging discussions led by our esteemed guests, you&#x27;ll gain a deeper understanding of their unique customs and practices:

As a leader and advocate for Métis and First Nation people in Saskatoon, Shirley Isbister has worked tirelessly to provide food shelter and security to those in need for over two decades. 
As President of the Central Urban Métis Federation Inc. (CUMFI), Shirley has an immeasurable impact on her community. Under her leadership, CUMFI has launched various housing initiatives which focused on providing a welcoming family environment to children in crisis, and safe and affordable housing to families and elders. She has also helped to secure funding for the Saskatoon Health Bus, a non-judgmental mobile treatment clinic in Saskatoon's core neighborhoods. It serves an average of 6500 patients per year. When Shirley started, CUMFI’s annual budget was $100,000. Now it has an annual operating budget of almost $ 10 million and employs 190 individuals. Shirley ensures no one who comes to CUMFI for help is turned away. 
Shirley is an advocate for the community she represents in other ways. She is a committed member of the Saskatoon Police Service Indigenous Women's Advisory Circle which works to improve policies and actions concerning police-related issues that touch the lives of Indigenous women. Shirley was selected to be a member of this committee due to her trusted voice as a community leader within Saskatoon. Under Shirley’s leadership during the pandemic, more than 90,000 lunches were served, and 4500 hampers delivered to people in need. 
Shirley secured funding for a Mobile Housing Community Resource Centre that works toward coordinated access. 
Shirley is totally committed to Reconciliation, MMIW, Partnerships and a better quality of life for Indigenous people. 
Her motto is “the speed of the leader determines the rate of the pack”.

Courtney-Dawn Anaquod is more than just a beautiful face. She is a mother of 2 children, a Jigging champion &amp; instructor, Founder of Qu'Appelle Valley Square dancers, Model, Youth and Young Parent, and Mental Health Advocate. Courtney-Dawn Anaquod is also a proud Anishinaabe Cree-Metis woman from Muscowpetung Saulteaux Nation of the Treaty four territory but resides in Saskatoon, SK Canada. Courtney is a self-taught jigger, and her inspiraton comes from her father and grandparents. She's been involved with the Metis Jigging and Sqaure-dancing for the past 27 years and instructing jigging workshops for the last 14 years. She is also known as the jigger who jigs stilettoes. Courtney recently graced the stages in Santa Fe, New Mexico &amp; New York City (USA). She has been featured on the runway, magazines, and films. She was recognized and awarded the FSIN-strengths of our women in the Arts &amp; Entertainment Category and in 2020 won Indigenous Model of the year. She obtained a diploma in Mental Health &amp; Wellness field. This will enable her to serve Indigenous and Metis communities throughout our beautiful nation. Courtney-Dawn has faced her shares of obstacles and barriers throughout life.

<h2>Samson LaMontagne</h2>

Tân’si / Taanishi! Samson LaMontagne is a Métis / Michif Educator from Regina Saskatchewan. Samson began learning Michif while attending SUNTEP (Saskatchewan Urban Native Teacher Education Program) at the University of Saskatchewan over 10 years ago. Samson now teaches Grade 4 at Georges Vanier School of Fine Arts in Saskatoon during the day. In his free time Samson enjoys creating resources and supporting communities from all over Canada with his Michif Zoom Classes. Samson also provides free Michif content on Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok and YouTube at michifwithmonoksamson. Samson’s goal is to help with the preservation and revitalization of the Michif Language. Samson believes every person that learns Michif not only helps breath life back into the Language but also answers the ‘Calls to Action’ with Truth and Reconciliation! Samson would like to thank all of the Language Keepers that have helped him along his learning journey. Marrsî / Maarsii
