In this workshop we are going to break down three Live P.A. setups and help you understand how you can create dynamic live performances too.

A weekend of workshops dedicated to fostering music performance and industry knowledge, with a showcase of live A/V performance at KW Studios on 11.11. A first of it's kind lineup  in Vancouver of East & SE Asian women, femme, and nonbinary artists.

Have you ever wondered how electronic music artists perform live on stage with a range of gear, rather than just playing back recorded tracks? In this workshop we are going to break down three Live P.A. setups and help you understand how you can create dynamic live performances too.We will cover gear used, signal flow and how we control our sets.Participants should bring a pair of headphones so they can try out gear. Workshop leads: Korea Town Acid, Eli Muro, Laine ButlerLAINE BUTLERLaine is a multidisciplinary visual artist that creates dense textured and colored works. Working in motion design, interaction design (VR and AR), visual art, and music creation.E﻿LI MUROEli Muro is a music producer , DJ and artist , creating genre blurring instrumental electronic music. As a cofounder of Chapel Sound he has helped facilitate the growth of the local Vancouver music scene for over a decade. As a DJ and live performer,a vast set of influences has led to sharing the stage with artists across the spectrum of sound and style from Mndsgn to Hudson Mohawke. His studio productions incorporate instrumentalists and electronic music techniques to create a unique blend of serene and dance ready beats with worldly influence.KOREA TOWN ACIDKorean born, Toronto-based DJ/Producer/Live PA performer Korea Town Acid is a classically trained pianist evolved to free-form beat manipulator, creates swinging dance rhythms and moody bangers that meld disassembled minimalism, free jazz and the more avant-garde corners of techno. She brings a fresh perspective, melding abstract rhythms and textures with experimental hypnotic vibes. Her DJ sets are eclectic, drawing from left-filed House and Techno and Experimental IDM, and her substantial energy has taken her globally world-wide, from the RBMA Bass Camp, to Boiler Room, MUTEK Montreal and various clubs in Europe and her hometown of Seoul. There are 21 stairs up a narrow hall with a handrail on the right side to access the space. There is one all-gender bathroom. The closest skytrain station is Chinatown-Stadium station, about 6 blocks away. The path is paved and is wheelchair accessible to the venue.
