Nova Scotia social workers are invited to explore interprofessional perspectives on long term care services in our province.

<p>Bring your lunch and join Paul Jenkinson and Elizabeth Coish online as they discuss various topics related to long term care in Nova Scotia, including interprofessional collaborative advocacy opportunities in our province.</p><p>Don't miss out; register now, and be part of the conversation that drives positive change in our communities. Participate from the comfort of your own home or office, and connect with like-minded individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the long term care sector.</p><h2>Speakers</h2><p><strong><strong>Paul Jenkinson</strong></strong>, MSW, is a retired former social worker, and a volunteer spokesperson for <a href="https://theaceteamadvoctesforthecareoftheelderly.wordpress.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Advocates for the Care of the Elderly</a> (The ACE Team).</p><p><strong><strong>Elizabeth Coish</strong></strong> is a Provisional Occupational Therapist registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia.</p><h2>Eligibility</h2><p>There are no prerequisites for this session. You'll need a device that can use <a href="https://zoom.us/test" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Zoom</a>, and a reasonably reliable internet connection. There are two ticket classes:</p><h3>NSCSW members</h3><p>All active, associate, retired associate, and student members of the <a href="https://nscsw.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Nova Scotia College of Social Workers</a> are welcome to attend; our professional development programming is part of our member services funded by <a href="https://issuu.com/nscsw/docs/connection_spring2023_webfinal/42" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">annual registration fees</a></p><h3>Partners</h3><p>W e are proud to be part of the <a href="https://www.casw-acts.ca/en/members/am-i-member#provincinces-and-territories" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Canadian Association of Social Workers</a>, the <a href="https://ccswr-ccorts.ca" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Canadian Council of Social Work Regulators</a>, and the <a href="https://www.nsrhpn.ca/member-listing" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Nova Scotia Regulated Health Professions Network</a>. Community members enrolled in any of our partners' member organizations are eligible to purchase a partner ticket; just let us know which one you're part of when you sign up.</p><h2>Professional development tracking</h2><p>For members of NSCSW, participating in this event may fulfil part of the <a href="https://nscsw.org/practice/professional-development-standards/#pdMandated" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">mandated requirements</a> for all social workers in Nova Scotia to complete annual <strong><strong>training or activities related to social justice advocacy</strong></strong>. Alternatively, members who have already completed this requirement for the year may track this session as <strong><strong>formal professional development</strong></strong> instead, as defined by NSCSW's guidelines for <a href="https://nscsw.org/pd" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">annual professional development</a>.
