Join <a href="https://voicesthatcount.vzy.io/team" title="https://voicesthatcount.vzy.io/team" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dr. Ifeyinwa Mbakogu and her research team</a> as they share the findings of their research with youth of African Descent (and their caregivers) who have interacted with or sought access to mental health and substance use services in Nova Scotia, as well as with mental health and substance use service providers in Nova Scotia.This research was funded by a <a href="http://www.cihr-irsc.gc.ca" title="http://www.cihr-irsc.gc.ca" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Canadian Institutes of Health Research</a> (CIHR) grant and is supported by the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW). This partnership embodies our shared commitment for advancing the provision of equitable mental health and substance use (MHSU) care for marginalized groups in Nova Scotia, and our commitment to collaborating to advocate for the recommendations of this research project. <h1>Who can come</h1>Everyone is welcome! Our mini-conference is designed for health providers and anyone interested in the delivery of culturally inclusive mental health and substance use services.The event is completely free to attend. You can join online from nearly anywhere in the province, or in the world, as long as you have a reasonably reliable internet connection. <h1>About NSCSW</h1>The Nova Scotia College of Social Workers exists to serve and protect Nova Scotians by effectively regulating the profession of social work. They work in solidarity with Nova Scotians to advocate for policies that improve social conditions, challenge injustice and value diversity.
