Learn how to select and care for native plants at this afternoon workshop. Educator, interdisciplinary artists and Indigenous ethnobotanist Tʼuyʼtʼtanat-Cease Wyss will share their knowledge on native, climate adapative and pollinator friendly plants, and we’ll visit two Seeding Stewardship sites, Pine Street Pollinator Park and Pine Street blue-green system.Seeding Stewardship is a new program from City of Vancouver and Parks Board that provides opportunities for members of the community to steward nature-based solutions such as rain gardens and pollinator meadows. These spaces bring nature into the city, helping to clean and manage rainwater, cool the urban environment, encourage biodiversity, and make a more liveable city.This year, we have 7 sites looking for leaders and urban nature lovers to support them. We're also launching the Reciprocity Fund, which can provide up to $2000 in funding to support activate and steward your community space. Join us for this workshop and to learn more about this exciting new program!
