About This ClassThis class is a fun and playful way to embark on a watercolour journey. If you are new to watercolour, this class will help introduce you to simple and basic techniques. If you have previous experience with watercolour painting, this class is a perfect opportunity to take your skills to the next level by trying out the "intermediate challenges" offered by the instructor. Whether your a beginner or intermediate level painter, this class will be a welcoming place for you to learn and enjoy watercolour painting! Birds &amp; Botanicals - Watercolour SeriesThis series is comprised of four seperate and individual watercolour classes, each is dedicated to a different bird and flower. The classes can however be taken together to create an ideal mini-course, which will gently guide you through various watercolour painting techniques. Designed to cater to various skills levels, this class is great for both beginners and intermediate level learners (please see the section below for further details on this). Class vs. WorkshopThis is a "class", which means that (unlike a workshop), materials are not automatically included. If you do not have any watercolour supplies, not to worry! Materials can be provided for you to use for a small fee (please select the correct ticket type at checkout). If you already have materials, be sure to bring them (you only need to register for the base ticket!). Similiarly to a workshop, the class will provide you with a trace image to use if you wish, so no drawing experience is required. Take all four classes in the "Birds &amp; Botanicals" series to make a mini-course, where each week you learn and paint something new! Mini-Course - The Full SeriesTurn this into a four-week mini-course by registering for the other three classes in the "Birds &amp; Botanicals" series. Each class can be taken independently, but taking all four of them will give you an optimal learning experience! :) MaterialsYou will have the option (at checkout) to register for this class + materials (see the above section for more details). If you have your own materials, or if you would like to buy your own materials for this class (or the full series), please use this list as a guide:<ul><li>8"x10" Watercolour Paper - (Cold pressed, 140 lbs) x 2-3 sheets</li><li>#8 Round Brush - (a #6 or #10 also work)</li><li>#4 Round Brush - (a #2 can also work)</li><li>Tracing paper - (6"x8" or 8"x10" are good) x 1-2 sheets</li><li>Containers for Water - (glass jars or plastic bowls) x 2</li><li>Pencil - (mechanical is easiest, #2 Bic or HB hardness) x 1</li><li>Black Fineliner Marker/Pen - (Staedtler is great) x 1</li><li>White Gel Pen - (Gelly Roll #8 is ideal) x 1</li><li>Ereasers: 1x Rasoplast, AND 1x Kneaded</li><li>Paper Towel - (cloth towel works too) x 2-3 sheets</li><li>Watercolour PAINTS - (please only use one of these brands: Holbein, Winsor &amp; Netwon Professional, or Daniel Smith): OPERA ROSE (hot pink); HOOKERS GREEN (sap green is also ok); RAW SIENNA (sandy yellowish); INDIGO (this is a blueish black in Daniel Smith or Holbein. Otherwise it is called Payne's Grey in Winsor &amp; Newton).</li></ul>
