Yukon Queer Film Alliance exists to present film and other Queer art media to Yukon audiences and to encourage the development of such works by Yukoners. YQFA was incorporated as a not-for-profit in January 2012 to address what we saw as a gap in Yukon's otherwise vibrant cultural scene.We host the OUT North Queer Film Festival every fall and and one film night every spring.

Crafted by talented Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer filmmakers from across the globe, this series celebrates the beauty and wonder of their love and lives. Experience the candid and intimate tales of first loves in "I like Girls," as four women share humorous and heartfelt stories of infatuation, mutual attraction, erotic moments, and fumbling attempts at sexual expression. "Métis Femme Bodies" boldly returns narratives to those whose voices have been silenced and cultures stolen, offering a powerful reclaiming of identity and heritage. Follow Andy, a young Métis woman navigating urban life, as she embarks on a transformative journey of self-discovery in "Sweet Night." A chance encounter with sweet grass in a city park leads Andy to unexpected revelations, ultimately reconnecting her with her Indigenous roots in a profound and surprising way. Travel back in time with "Woman Dress," a poignant exploration of pre-contact Plains life through the eyes of a Two-Spirit individual. Join Woman Dress as they traverse the vast Plains, gathering and sharing stories that transcend time and space, weaving together the rich tapestry of Indigenous identity and tradition. Stan has been studying such hair for a while now and is excited to share his findings with the audience through the art of narration.A mix of comedy, drag, dance, spoken word, and clown art, all aimed at celebrating black afro hair in both historical and current contexts. AccessibilityThe venue is wheelchair-accessible and has all-gender washrooms. We do not believe that cost should be a barrier to attending the film festival.
