Sweetheart (Out North Film Festival Presents)

Yukon Queer Film Alliance exists to present film and other Queer art media to Yukon audiences and to encourage the development of such works by Yukoners. YQFA was incorporated as a not-for-profit in January 2012 to address what we saw as a gap in Yukon's otherwise vibrant cultural scene.We host the OUT North Queer Film Festival every fall and and one film night every spring.

Get ready to enjoy these delightful and beautiful films in the 10th Out North Queer Film Festival.

The last thing April (aka AJ) wants is to spend a week holiday at Seaside Holiday Park with her family. Yet, she finds herself on a four-hour car journey to the Dorset coast with her mum Tina (Jo Hartley, THIS IS ENGLAND) and little sister Dayna. Mum is determined to spend quality time with her little sweetheart before she flies the nest. Joined by pregnant sister Lucy and boyfriend Steve, AJ expects this to be ‘a week of hell’. That is, until she lays her eyes on the resident lifeguard Isla and is instantly infatuated. Winner of the audience award at Glasgow Film Festival and Best First Feature at Inside Out Toronto, Marley Morrison’s debut SWEETHEART captures the ups and downs of the quintessential British family holiday.
