Kay Tout Moune Unconference  OCADU, April 20-27

Kay Tout Moune (pronounced Kai toot moon) is a week-long unconference that examines the global movements of people with their ideas, knowledge, visionary contemplations, and social praxis through a postmigrant perspective.

Tchaka is a traditional Haitian stew typically made with corn, beans, squash, coconut milk, and meat, among other ingredients. In Haitian Creole, " tchaka " also refers to various collaged objects, situations, or behaviours. Notably, Tchaka is a hearty dish traditionally prepared by and shared among participants of a "konbit"—a collaborative form of labour that has been practiced in rural Haiti for generations.Join visiting Haitian poet, photographer, gardener, and food enthusiast Coutechève Lavoie-Aupont on Saturday, April 27th, to prepare and enjoy a Tchaka. American-born Haitian-Canadian photographer and culinary artist Jeremiah Mondesir will join the konbit for a little Toronto flavour.This participatory meal takes place at the newly inaugurated Wildseed Centre for Art and Activism at 24 Cecil St. It is free to all without exceptions. Donations (monetary or in-kind) are appreciated.
