What is the City Nature Challenge?

The City Nature Challenge is a global event that engages people in documenting and celebrating biodiversity in urban areas. Participants use the iNaturalist app to photograph and identify plants, animals, and other living organisms.

Question 3

I don't know any plants or animals.  Can I still come?

Accepted Answer

Yes!  This event is beginner friendly!  The iNaturalist app along with our guide will help you identify the plants and animals you see.

Question 4

I have a mobility issue, can I join?

Accepted Answer

This event does require the ability to navigate steep hills.  While many of the pathways in the park are paved some are not. Please keep that in mind if you have a challenge with mobility.

Question 5

Is there an age restriction?

Accepted Answer

We will be documenting flora and fauna so this event is probably not suitable for toddlers.  However, we understand that every family has different dynamics and if you feel your child would enjoy this activity we welcome you.

Question 6

Can I bring my Dog?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately dogs are not allowed on our field trips unless medically necessary.  This is to protect the wildlife that we encounter on our trips.
