10C Shared Space (10C) is the hub for community activators and changemakers in Guelph. We welcome groups and individuals into an inclusive community of social change organizations working across sectors and engaging in collaborative work to build a resilient and sustainable community.10C puts collaborative, inclusive placemaking at the core of our program areas: Sustainable Food Systems, Community Engagement, Sustainable Development Goals, Social Finance, Social Enterprise & Social Innovation. We operate 45,000+ sf of social purpose real estate at our main hub at 42 Carden St. (15,000sf) and a Farmers' Market at 2 Gordon St. (11,400sf building with 20,000sf grounds).KEY projects include: Nourish by 10C, Harvest Impact by 10C, SDG Cities, and the revitalization of the Guelph Farmers' Market. People work, meet, eat, connect and brainstorm together at 10C.

Super Foodies is a new, culinary-focused children’s program that combines safe food fun and learning through an interactive, team approach.

This 6 week program is designed to get children excited about cooking while integrating sustainable practices and working with healthy, local ingredients. Under the guidance of experienced chefs, participants will learn essential skills that will help them to feel comfortable and confident in the kitchen. Each week will focus on key steps and recipes while exploring questions like “where does our food come from?”, “how does our food grow?”, and “what happens to the food we don’t eat?” The program will incorporate elements of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and explore how they relate to our current food systems. This includes covering topics like nutrition, food access and security, as well as sustainability. Through reflecting on cooking techniques, habits, and practices, participants will feel empowered to continue their culinary exploration beyond the course and integrate their learnings in their day-to-day life!Session Topics Include:Week 1: Saturday October 19 - Kitchen 101: Getting Comfortable and Staying Safe in the Kitchen!Week 2: Saturday October 26 - Food Adventurers: Exploring Tastes and Textures Into the Unknown! Week 3: Saturday November 2 - It’s All Around You: Building a Micro Farm at Home!Week 4: Saturday November 9 - Culinary Colours: Conscious Eating!Week 5: Saturday November 16 - Being Resourceful in the Kitchen : Making Use of What You Already Have!Week 6: Saturday November 23 - Super Foodie ‘Cook Off’: Reviewing What We’ve Learned!All sessions run from 10:00am to 1:00pm in the Nourish Kitchen on the fourth floor of 10C Shared Space located at 42 Carden Street in Guelph.The cost to run the program is $600 for each participant. 10C works to find ways to subsidize Super Foodies as we strive to make this program available to everyone who would like to participate. The program cost is $350 per child but we do offer limited sliding scale payments for those who need them.We always appreciate additional pay-it-forward donations added on to program payments to help make Super Foodies accessible to more kids!If you'd like to discuss course content, fees or any other accommodations with a staff member, please be in touch with Nathan at info@10carden.caAll chefs and class facilitators have been vetted and have their Vulnerable Sector check certificates. All recipes included in the program are: dairy, nut, and gluten-free. The 10C team will be in touch after registration has been paid to collect important information for the program.
