Join us on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Long Branch Social House for an evening of exceptional jazz and community celebration.Our concert will run from 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm each night and will showcase the talented Etobicoke Jazz Youth Orchestra, featuring some of our past “Doc Award” winning musicians!Can't wait to see you!

7:30 PM – Sinal Aberto - Gord Sheard &amp; Luanda JoesGORDON SHEARD &amp; SINAL ABERTO perform classics of the Brazilian popular song tradition (featured composers include A. C. Jobim, Chico Buarque, Gilberto Gil, and many others), as well as vibrant original compositions that reflect the band’s diverse musical roots. Featuring, Rio de Janeiro-born vocalist LUANDA JONES who has performed in concerts and festivals throughout Brazil, and has made a significant mark on the Canadian musical scene since her arrival in Toronto in 2005.

9:00 PM – Hilario DuránCuban born HILARIO DURAN grew up in Havana in a musical family surrounded by a variety of diverse musical influences on a daily basis. He began working as a professional musician in Cuba’s Los Papa Cun­-Cun Ensemble and in a variety of musical formats. Later on, in the 70’s, Durán was Chucho Valdés’ chosen successor in Cuba’s most modern big band, Orquesta Cubana de Música Moderna.

10:30 PM – Jane Bunnett with pianist Dánae OlanoFive-time Juno Award winner, JANE BUNNETT has turned her bands and recordings into showcases for the finest musical talent from Canada, the US, and Cuba. She has been nominated for three Grammy Awards, received The Order of Canada, The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, and, most recently, The Premier’s Award for Excellence.
