AAF Welcome Tara Phillips

The Algoma Autism Foundation was founded in 2013 by a dedicated group who found a lack of support for people with autism in Sault Ste Marie and wanted to bring assistance and education to the citizens of this great community. We endeavor to foster acceptance in our community for all those with Autism Spectrum Disorder. We aim to help those in need on the spectrum within Sault Ste. Marie and AlgomaDistrict by providing added opportunity for them. We aim to provide tools for education and items for families and schools to aid in the positive development of those on the spectrum. Through hard work our entirely volunteer staff have been and will continue to make this possible.The not-for-profit Registration Number for the Foundation is 869475-3

<p>We are honoured to welcome Tara Phillips, founder of Autism Learners, for a special presentation.  With over 20 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist supporting young autistic children, Tara speaks on practical, connection based strategies, that help children thrive at home and in the classroom.  Her presentation focuses communiction developement, visual supports, routines, behaviour through a compassionate lens, and empowering educators and families with tools thar are realistic, respectful, and easy to implement.  Attendees can expect an engaging, informative session filled with meaningful takeaways to better suppor autistic learners in our community. </p>
