We are the University of Toronto iSchool chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery. We host events tailored to students at the Faculty of Information on topics like user experience design, data science, systems analysis and more. Membership costs $10.00 and helps to support us in holding events.Join ACM.

<P>Join the ACM Exec Team! We'd love to have you! Come out to our Info Session to learn about our open positions. </P>
<H2><STRONG>What is ACM? </STRONG></H2>
<P>ACM is a student-run organization at the Faculty of Information U of T iSchool that creates opportunities for students to learn hard skills that supplement course material. We host workshops and events throughout the year. We are affiliated with the Association for Computing Machinery. <BR></P>
<H2><STRONG>What positions are open on the executive? </STRONG></H2>
<P><STRONG>Event Leads: </STRONG><SPAN>You know all those cool ACM events you hear about? Our Events Team makes those happen! We need lots of students to take on the Event Lead role to provide the iSchool community with a diverse program of workshops and talks in the next term. Each Event Lead only plans one event at minimum. This is your opportunity to make the workshop or lecture of your dreams come to life! No event planning experience required!</SPAN></P>
<P><STRONG>Communications & Social Media Officers: </STRONG><SPAN>Our Communications Team makes sure that iSchool students know when ACM has an event! We’re looking for students to run our social media profiles on Twitter and Facebook, manage our Eventbrite page, and send out our newsletter. If you consider yourself a good writer, this may be the perfect role for you! No previous social media experience required!</SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN><STRONG>Financial Officers:</STRONG> </SPAN><SPAN>Our Finance Team runs the business side of ACM — managing our budget and liaising with stakeholders at the university. No previous business experience required! </SPAN></P>
<P><STRONG>Web Team:</STRONG> We need a new website, and we need a team to help us get there! Our currently broken site is run on Wordpress. We are assembling a team of students to make us a shiny, new site. No web development experience required!</P>
<H2><SPAN><SPAN>Who can join the ACM Exec Team?</SPAN></SPAN></H2>
<P>Any MI or MMst students at the Faculty of Information can join the team! It doesn't matter what stream you're in as long as you're interested in bolstering technical literarcy in the iSchool community! </P>
<H2>I want to join, but I don't think I have the time with all my other commitments this year. </H2>
<P><SPAN>Don’t be afraid if you want to join the team but are concerned about time commitment! The ACM Exec team holds meetings each month of about an hour each. Outside of that, you can set your own monthly time commitment, but it’s safe to estimate roughly 4-5 hours of work per position per month, including attending your colleagues’ events.</SPAN></P>
<H2><SPAN>What's the process for joining the Exec Team? </SPAN></H2>
<P><SPAN>If there is more interest than there are available positions, we'll hold an election process. More details to follow in that event. </SPAN></P>
