Inspiring mature adults to live their healthiest, happiest lives.Are you ready to embrace a vibrant and fulfilling lifestyle as you age? Join us for "Aging Well" on Friday, November 15, 2024.Funded by Ontario Seniors, presented by Bracebridge Recreation and the YWCA Muskoka, this event will be packed with insightful discussions, interactive conversations and plenty of exhibitors - all designed to engage and inform. It's your chance to focus on well-being in a truly uplifting way.---At YWCA Muskoka and Bracebridge Recreation we are interested in aging well. We firmly believe that individuals can continue to thrive physically, emotionally and mentally as they enter their mature years.This year we have put a focus on learning how to do this and who better to teach us then seniors themselves? Which is why we decided to host an Aging Well event. It will be a fun and engaging event that has been entirely organized and curated by a team of vital seniors in the Muskoka area.The day will feauture small group sessions on the following topics:LET’S TALK SENSE OF PURPOSESusan Lovell will facilitate a conversation about things that motivate you to get out of bed in the morning. Your sense of purpose is as unique to you as your fingerprint. Let’s chat, let’s share.THE CHANGING ROLES OF PHARMACY Bill Coon, retired pharmacist, will share his views on the recently expanded role of pharmacists in Ontario- the pros &amp; the cons. THE ART OF CONNECTION Join Terri Howell, local artist, making past, present or future selves through visual arts. CANCER IMPACT Andrea from Enliven is joining us to offer support to those affected by cancer to live well, with and beyond, a diagnosis. Along with available medical, holistic, caregiving and practical resources. CANNABIS: Puff or Pass Shan Mei Young Tai, NP will lead a discussion on the benefits and various forms of cannabis available. SURFING THE WEB SAFELY Jiana Cutting, co-ordinator of YWCA Muskoka’s Digital Smarts program, will discuss the skills needed to safely engage with computers, mobile devices and the internet safely, securely and effectively. FULFILLING YOUR BUCKET LIST Ready to dream big and dive into new adventures? Come chat with Kelly Jones as she explores the joys of creating a bucket list, where every goal—big or small—brings a spark of excitement to life! DREAMS AND DOLLARS Steven and Julie will host an open discussion and provide insight on how to take charge of your overall financial well-being. Let’s chat about how to achieve your financial goals and give you piece of mind. HAPPY FEET Don't forget to take care of your feet, they take you everywhere you want to go. Learn and chat about the importance of self-care from the ground up.Personalize the day by choosing 3 sessions that interest you - you'll be able to sign up when you arrive!
