An Evening with Elder DoreenSpeaker: Elder Doreen Healy As part of Family Violence Prevention Month, we invite you to an evening with Elder Doreen Healy; Traditional Knowledge Keeper from Kainai Nation of the Blackfoot Confederacy. Elder Doreen has dedicated her life's work to advocating for Indigenous voices and the land. For more than 40 years, she has worked in government, community, and industry, bringing truth to light and building bridges to reconciliation. Just this year, she was awarded the Chief David Crowchild Memorial Award, acknowledging her tremendous work towards Indigenous and non-Indigenous relations. A mother, grandmother, and leader, Elder Doreen is deeply respected among Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, and her family — her greatest pride. This event is your opportunity to learn about family, community, and overcoming violence in a safe space, guided by an Indigenous elder. We hope to see you in our sharing circle on November 25.
