Join Greenways and Kate Janeway of Denman Island Heritage Apples for an in-depth workshop on grafting an apple tree.

<h3>Overview:</h3>Over the course of the morning, participants will learn the fruit tree grafting technique known as Bud Grafting. The course is very hands-on and participants will also learn tree after-care techniques needed to grow a successful apple tree.All plant materials are provided, and participants will get to leave with their very own grafted tree at the end of the workshop.Participants are requested to please bring their own grafting knife, or knife with single bevelled edge to the course (<a href="https://www.amazon.ca/Victorinox-Budding-Grafting-Knife-Barklifter/dp/B000AYIYKO" title="https://www.amazon.ca/Victorinox-Budding-Grafting-Knife-Barklifter/dp/B000AYIYKO" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">see here for an example</a>). If you have a nice hunting knife, garden knife or something similar, that will do. There will be a small number of knives to share at the event, but not enough for everyone.The following will be supplied with ticket purchase: a selection of practice wood, scion wood varieties, 1 rootstock per participant, 6 knives to share at the event, and grafting tape.<h3>Tickets:</h3>$40 regular, $30 for Greenways members.
