Vancouver culinary and hospitality director, Robert Sung, invites you to learn new Asian recipes that make use of common vegetables.

Museum of Vancouver and UBC’s Faculty of Land and Food Systems have planted a backyard garden at MOV in preparation for our Chinese immigration exhibition A Seat At The Table, opening in early 2020. As the 2019 summer garden season comes to a close Robert will be harvesting various MOV garden vegetables from our garden to prepare recipes featured at our cooking workshop. Learn how easy local vegetables are to prepare, cook and creatively use for meals.Robert will demonstrate preparation of the following dishes: Asian Burritos, Napa Cabbage Cole Slaw, and Stir-Fry Bok Choy with Shrimp. Tasting is a major part of developing taste buds and appreciation for ethnic cuisine. Bring an appetite so you're prepared to sample these dishes. Date: Wednesday, October 2, 2019Time: 6:30 pmAdmission: *$15 Early Bird, $19 General Admission, $15 **MOV Members.
