We are back and better than ever for our 7th annual event. #BaconDay2016, held at Workshop Eatery, is set to be our best event yet. Now that the restaurant is complete and we have such a beautiful and versatile space to celebrate in we are taking this party to the next level! 
We have been so blessed with such great community support over the past nine months that I feel compelled for us to raise the fundraising bar this year. Last year, with your help, we raised just shy of $12000.00. Not bad, but this year, I want to crush that. So, we have decided to donate 100% of ticket sales to YESS and set the fundraising goal for the evening to $25000.00. That's right, every dime you pay (except GST, darn laws and such) will go directly to YESS. We can't achieve this goal without the incredible generosity of some of our partners in business, which include:
Irvings Farm Fresh
Wild Game Consultants
Gordon Food Service
Baseline Wine & Spirits
River City Event Rentals
and many more, who have all agreed to help contribute towards this lofty goal.
This year, the evening will see the return of the whole roasted pig. As a matter of fact, you're more than welcome to stop by early, as we will be going whole hog right on the front lawn, from early in the morning to prepare the delectable beast. Weather permitting, the patio will be in full swing and the restaurant will be a buzz with delicious tray passed food items, and several swine inspired food stations, as well as tasty libations. The imcomparable DJ Hector Castro will be spinning his favourite Kevin Bacon tracks, and the silent auction will be sure to have some real gems. 
Last, but never least, Chef Andrew Cowan of the soon to be opened Northern Chicken will be returning to compete in our annual Bacon Dessert Cook Off. The series is tied 3-3 and this is the deciding game seven, where we leave it all on the line for the pride of hoisting the Bacon Cup. Be there to cast your vote for the winning dish.
I know what you're thinking. We would love to go, but cant' find childcare. We've got that covered too. You can now reserve childcare in the building, at our neighbours, Seeds & Sprouts. This is a professional day care provider, with trained employees, providing full service for the evening from 5:30-9:30. The children can play and have fun in a safe environment, while you eat delicious bacon goodness. Space is limited and is only $22 per child, including a snack. Spots for that can also be purchased on here. 
Your ticket purchase will get you a seemingly endless amount of bacon inspired food, 10 drink tickets (with the average pour costing 3-5 tickets, more can be purchased) and one vote in the Bacon Dessert Cook Off. 
It will be a fun-filled evening, with delicious food, great company, and an incredible cause. I sincerely hope you will join us to celebrate swine and reach our fundraising goal for YESS!
