BAO May Open Studio+

The Brampton Arts Organization is a registered non-profit that champions Brampton’s diverse arts, culture and creative industries and advocates for the #BramptonArtist. We work to build a thriving, confident, valued, and empowered creative scene by offering a range of programs, services and resources. In this, BAO is a key partner in fulfilling the City of Brampton’s strategic vision and Culture Master Plan.Throughout the year, we offer free in-person and virtual programming for all creative disciplines. These programs focus on helping artists build and professionalize their practices. We also create opportunities for artists to show their work through regular calls. In addition to these programs for individual creatives, we offer programs for Brampton-based creative businesses and arts and culture organizations.

BAO Open Studio+

Make BAO your studio once a month, every Wednesday from noon to 8:00 p.m. Bring your works in progress or use our supplies to start a new project, take pictures in our photography studio, record beats in the recording studio, and so much more.

<h3>Why +</h3>because it's more than just an open studio. In addition to creating a space for community to gather, share work and support each other, we will also be hosting skill-building workshops during select Open Studio+. <h3>+ is ...</h3><ul><li>A space to foster creativity and encourage experimentation in an atmosphere of exchange, conversation, and support.</li><li>A place to encounter fellow creatives and learn about their work and practices.</li><li>A chance to find future collaborators or reconnect with old friends.</li><li>A studio to work on your own in-progress artworks and be inspired by someone else's project.</li><li>An opportunity to learn new skills and explore different art practices and tools.</li></ul>Most importantly, Open Studio+ is FREE to attend and open to all skill levels.As always, you can bring your own works in progress, use our art supplies and materials to start a new project, take pictures in our Photography Studio, find inspiration in our Community Library, record beats in our Recording Studio and so much more.Drop in any time between noon and eight p.m. and make the most of this collaborative artistic environment. <h4>NOTE: There is no workshop for this edition of Open Studio+. Instead we invite the Brampton creative community to gather, network and share what you are working on with each other.</h4> <h3>Recording Studio</h3>The recording studio is available from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m for the community to use for free during Open Studio+. NOTE: BAO staff and volunteers can not provide technical support. You must know how to use the equipment and software available. Recordings may therefore include your image. Tickets work for both Brampton Transit and Züm buses.
