Get ready to make your own beautiful coiled baskets in a fun, laid-back workshop where creativity meets craft!
Discover the timeless art of coiled basket making in this hands-on workshop. Using natural fibers and simple stitching techniques, you’ll learn how to create a beautiful and functional basket from the ground up.
This beginner-friendly class will cover the basics of starting a coil, shaping your basket, maintaining even tension, and finishing the rim with a polished edge. Along the way, you’ll explore design options, including color, texture and decorative stitching, to make your basket uniquely your own.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a completed handmade miniature coiled basket or well on your way with a larger version (we'll make sure you have all the necessary materials to continue at home if you choose the larger option; participants that make a mini basket will receive more supplies to make a second one at home), new practical skills, and the confidence to continue creating baskets on your own. All materials and tools are provided—just bring your curiosity and creativity.
