Beekeeping Next Steps: Summer Beekeeping, Inspections & Hive Health

Ready to move beyond beginner beekeeping? This next steps workshop is designed for beekeepers who have established hives and want to deepen their confidence with inspections, disease and pest identification, and summer hive management.
We’ll focus on what to look for during regular inspections, how to read what your bees are telling you, and how to respond effectively to common challenges that arise during the active summer season. Through discussion, visuals, and practical guidance, you’ll learn how to support strong, healthy colonies while avoiding common mistakes.

Topics include:
How to conduct thorough, purposeful hive inspections
Identifying healthy brood patterns and signs of trouble
Common bee diseases and pests (including early warning signs)
Integrated pest and disease management strategies
Summer management practices: space, ventilation, feeding, and swarm prevention
Knowing when to intervene

This workshop is ideal for beekeepers who have completed an introductory course or have at least some experience. You’ll leave with clearer decision-making skills, a better understanding of hive health, and practical tools to support your bees through the busiest part of the year.

All particpants require a ticket.

Website: beecraft.ca

Cancellation policy: All ticket purchases are final. No refunds will be issued. Cancellations made prior to two hours before the scheduled workshop will receive a full credit for a future booking redeemable within 6 months.

As a bonus, the cost of this course can be applied to beekeeping supply purchases at BeeCraft Supply & Studio in 2026!
