Get ready to crush your first triathlon with fun, expert-led training sessions in person!

Ravens Tri Club: Early Bird Triathlon Training Program

Perfect for beginners or anyone new to the sport, this 12-week program is designed to take you confidently from your first workout to the finish line. With three coached sessions per week held right here at Carleton, you’ll build fitness, skills, and race-day confidence under the guidance of Ben Cohen, Founder and Head Coach of True Trail Triathlon.

Make 2026 the year you tick a triathlon off your bucket list! This program will sell out quickly!

Includes:

  • 12-week training plan designed by Coach Ben, leading up to the Somersault Early Bird Triathlon
  • A 3-month all-inclusive membership to CU Athletics facilities, including pool access, the fitness centre, and CU Group fitness classes
  • An introductory session for ability assessment
  • 36 in-person workouts, led by Coach Ben (12 swims, 12 indoor cycling workouts, 12 run workouts)
  • Free on-site parking
  • 10% discount on registration for the Somersault Early Bird Triathlon on May 16th
  • Discounts on additional coaching from Ben Cohen

Coached Swim Sessions: Mondays | Feb 23 – May 11 | 8:15–9:15 PM
Excluding April 13, 20, 27

Additional Swim Sessions: Thursdays | April 7, 9 & 14 | 8:30–9:30 PM

Coached Bike Sessions: Tuesdays | Feb 24 – May 12 | 7:15–8:15 PM

Coached Run Sessions: Thursdays | Feb 26 – May 14 | 7:30–8:30 PM
Runs will move outside when weather allows.

Program Kickoff

The program begins with a meet-and-greet info session on February 23rd, where Coach Ben will review expectations, training approaches, and how to get the most out of your triathlon journey.

$700 + HST
