For more than thirty-five years Cecilia Concerts has been presenting diverse high-calibre chamber music experiences in welcoming, bilingual, accessible, and intimate settings that connect our communities, educate and inspire audiences and artists, and enhance the rich heritage and culture of K'jipuktuk/Halifax. Cecilia Concerts acknowledges that we are honoured to live, work, and present performances on the lands, surrounded by the waterways, of Mi’kma’ki – the unceded and unsurrendered ancestral territory of the Mi’kmaq. We acknowledge the Mi’kmaq as the past, present, and future caretakers of these lands and waterways. <p>Beltuner is a Paris-based quartet known for their electrifying live performances and fearless blend of musical styles. Since bursting onto the French jazz scene in the early 2000s, they have built a devoted following with their infectious energy and genre-defying sound. The group features Viviane Arnoux on accordion and vocals, Pascal Muller on guitar, Bertrand Allaume on bass, and Mathieu Stora on percussion. Together, they create a bold and joyful fusion that draws from swing manouche, musette, tango, pop, and contemporary jazz. With seven acclaimed albums to their name, Beltuner has built a distinctive voice in the global jazz world, blending playfulness, virtuosity, and emotional depth. Their performances are lively celebrations of rhythm and melody, shaped by improvisation and a spirit of joyful exploration. Audiences can expect an exhilarating concert experience, filled with vibrant soundscapes and the unmistakable charm of Paris. This is a free concert, open to all with advance registration.
