Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Halifax. This session provides an overview of what it means to be a Big and how long-term, one-to-one mentoring relationships make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and youth.
Participants will learn about the role and expectations of being a Big, what effective mentoring relationships look like in practice, and how mentors are supported throughout the match. The session also covers essential child safety principles, boundaries, and the safeguards in place to ensure safe, positive, and developmentally appropriate mentoring experiences for everyone involved.
This session is an important first step for anyone considering becoming a Big and offers an opportunity to ask questions, gain clarity, and learn more about the impact of mentoring in our community.
