Iranian activist and lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh has been repeatedly criminalized for her support of women’s rights, justice and equality. Most recently, she was arrested in 2018 and sentenced to 32 years in prison and 148 lashes for representing Iranian women advocating for the right to choose whether or not to wear hijab.Marcia S.Ross and Jeff Kaufman secretly directed the documentary film Nasrin, which provides a window into Nasrin’s advocacy and more broadly, the resilience of the women&#x27;s rights movement in Iran.
