Overview

Join us for an exciting workshop designed just for boys aged 8-17! Whether they’re brand new to coding or eager to level up their skills.

Workshop Overview

The September workshop kicks off our 2026/2027 Technology Year, welcoming students into a new journey of coding, Artificial Intelligence, creativity, and real-world problem-solving.

As the first workshop in the series, September workshop is all about building strong foundations. Beginner students will take their first steps into web development and HTML, while Advanced students will explore Artificial Intelligence, responsible AI, and how technology can be used to solve meaningful real-world problems.

This is not just an introduction; it is the starting point for projects and skills that students will continue developing throughout the technology year.

Beginner Track - Welcome to Coding & the Web

Students will discover how the internet, websites, and webpages work before getting hands-on with HTML- the language used to structure webpages.

Through guided coding activities, students will identify common webpage elements, learn basic HTML tags, explore EduBlocks, and build their very first webpage featuring their name and a fun fact.

Beginner Track Learning Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, students will be able to:

  • Explain the difference between the internet, a website, and a webpage
  • Identify key parts of a webpage, including headings, paragraphs, images, links, and titles
  • Understand the basic purpose and structure of HTML
  • Use EduBlocks to write and preview HTML

Every student will leave having created something real: their own working webpage.

Advanced Track - What Is Artificial Intelligence?

Students begin their AI journey by exploring what Artificial Intelligence really is, how it differs from automation, and how AI is already being used in the world around them.

They'll investigate real-world AI examples while learning about bias, fairness, privacy, safety, and responsible AI. Students will also begin an AI Idea Journal, identifying a meaningful real-world problem that could become the foundation of their final project later in the program.

Advanced Track Learning Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, students will be able to:

  • Identify benefits and potential risks of AI
  • Understand the importance of bias, fairness, privacy, and human oversight
  • Evaluate who benefits from an AI system and who could potentially be left out
  • Identify a meaningful real-world problem that AI could help address
  • Begin an AI Idea Journal that will grow into their final project

September Workshop establishes the foundation for the Advanced Track journey into Python, data, machine learning, NLP, and AI project development throughout the year.
