Black Intersections: a Black History Month conversation on Black Intersectionality

Action Dignity (formerly Ethno-Cultural Council Calgary)

We invite you to join us for ActionDignity&#x27; s Second Annual Black Intersections event. We are building on the conversations from last year&#x27;s Black Intersectionality Panel to include more topics that aren&#x27;t discussed enough within Calgary. We learned from the last year&#x27;s event that community members want to have more opportunities to talk about their specific experience. In order to ensure that the space is as accountable and respectful as possible, we have designed the event to have open space discussions that will be moderated by various facilitators. Participants can choose to attend the breakout sessions that interest them and move from each group as freely as they wish. Hope to see you there! This space is accepting of all-types of difference, and all attendees have a right to feel safe regardless of age, ancestry, colour, family status, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, mental disability, physical disability, place of origin, race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or source of income (Alberta Human Rights Act). To this end, we will not tolerate abusive or discriminatory behaviour, please know that such behaviour is grounds for removal from the event. Moh’kins’tsis, named by the Blackfoot where the Bow River meets the Elbow, is also home to the Metis Nation of Alberta, Region III.
