St. Francis Centre for Community, Arts and Culture

Suitable for all ages. St. Francis Centre for Community, Arts, and Culture.Admission is free! BlackLit Durham is a bimonthly literary arts event produced by the Canadian Black Literary Festival, presented in partnership with St. Francis. BLD is designed to showcase, highlight, amplify, and celebrate Black Canadian literary voices of all genres in their full splendour and diversity. Witness readings and performances from local talent, featuring: storyteller and public speaker Kesha Christie, author Craig Shreve, spoken word poet and author Shakkoi Hibbert, and hosted by Africanthology editor, educator, activist, and artist Greg Frankson. Event hosted in partnership with the St. Francis Centre in Pickering Village.
