Body contact is an important part of the game, but there is a point where it can overshadow its purpose and become unsafe and even dangerous. That is why this clinic is so important. Techniques taught include playing safely along the boards, puck protection, escapes and competing. Players are shown the proper way to impede the progress of the puck carrier, working on defensive skating, positioning and angling.
