Bohemian Dances [Cancelled]

Dedicated to the integration of educational initiatives into the world of professional music performance, Koerner Piano Trio is Ensemble-in-Residence at the Vancouver Academy of Music. Comprising three musicians and educators of international acclaim – Nicholas Wright (violin), Joseph Elworthy (cello), and Amanda Chan (piano) – Koerner Piano Trio carries out its educational mandate through numerous outreach initiatives and performances, sharing the joy of chamber music with aspiring musicians and avid audiences. The trio is named in honor of one of the founders of the Vancouver Academy of Music, Ms. Iby Koerner.

This concert has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. 
A musical delight awaits in this trio of offerings: experience a front row seat to Beethoven’s ‘Kakadu’ Variations Op. 121a and hear this comic bird come alive before your very ears. Dvořák makes an appearance in Suk’s Trio Op. 2 in C minor, with its powerful opening chords that transition to a graceful folk dance and driving energy. The rhythmic drive and seamlessly blended voices of Dvořák’s exhilarating Trio No. 1 Op. 21 concludes the afternoon, rounding out a concert full of colour and lyricism.

Online tickets are available until 9:00am on Sunday, April 5, after which tickets will be available at the door (cash or cheque, subject to availability). The Box Office will open at 1:00pm. Repertoire selections are subject to change. 
Tickets are non-refundable.
