Mission:The Black Ontario Public Service Employees(BOPSers)Network's mission is to provide advice, support, mentoring opportunities and a forum for information sharing for Network members consistent with our guiding vision and principles.To advise and make representation to the Ontario government to create an inclusive and equitable employment and service environment in which all Black employees are valued and recognized for their talents and skills and enabled to contribute to the full extent of their potential.

<h3>PANEL DESCRIPTION:</h3>Get an inside look into a wide variety of career opportunities in policy and learn from the experiences of Black OPSers who have been successful in policy.Ever wondered what it’s like to do policy work in the OPS? If you like problem-solving and working on collaborative projects, you might want to consider getting into OPS policy. Public policy can take many different shapes. For example, strategic policy could include introducing new laws and regulations, or creating a multi-sector compensation enhancement program such as pandemic pay to support the government’s COVID-19 response, while operational policy could include operationalizing government initiatives such as the RapidSkills Micro-credentials pilot program. Join our panelists as they share their thoughts about policy, the skills they need to be successful, and their experiences as Black OPSers in policy.
