Bramble Script Read - Macbitches

Bramble Script Read - Macbitches

Overview

Like an open mic, but with a script! Bramble script reads are a monthly event where anyone is invited to come and cold-read a script aloud.

WHEN: 6:30-9:30PM, Sun, Apr 5

WHERE: Hamilton Board Room, BMO Theatre Centre

Hosted by Bramble Theatre Collective

Like an open mic, but with a script! Bramble script reads are a monthly event where anyone is invited to come and cold-read a script aloud. A great way to read new scripts, develop your acting instincts, and engage with the theatre community! If you would like to read, roles are randomly assigned (or requested, if you have a dream role you'd love to play), then we read the script together. Don't feel like reading out loud? Come on out just to listen! Afterwards, stick around for a discussion of the script.

This month's script is Macbitches by Sophie McIntosh. When freshman acting major Hailey unexpectedly scores the coveted role of Lady Macbeth, her upperclassmen rivals immediately invite her over to “celebrate.” As the Fireball and Svedka flow, the young women interrogate their own ambitions as well as the power structures that have shaped their education—and when the night spirals into violent and shocking acts of betrayal, they come to learn that what’s done cannot be undone. Content forecast: strong language, sexual content, violence.

*Participants will be sent more information upon registration including door information, etc.

ACCESSIBILITY

The BMO Theatre Centre is wheelchair accessible, and has physically accessible and gender-neutral washrooms.

Participants can also email Promethean at prometheantc@gmail.com to chat about any access needs and how we can offer support during our festival. We regret that we cannot offer ASL interpretation at this time.

Fates Festival is supported by the Arts Club Theatre Company, the Arts Club Youth & Access Committee, and the City of Vancouver.
