Buttoned Up! is a hands-on sustainable fashion workshop where participants revitalize their existing clothing by adding buttons as decorative and functional elements. Through upcycled materials and creative stitching techniques, participants will personalize garments, reduce textile waste, and explore mindful, sustainable fashion.This interactive workshop emphasizes creativity, community, and sustainability, providing participants with practical skills and a tangible upcycled garment to take home. By the end of the workshop, participants will:<ul><li>Understand principles of upcycling and sustainable fashion</li><li>Learn basic hand-stitching techniques for attaching buttons</li><li>Explore creative garment embellishment and design</li><li>Gain confidence in personalizing and repairing clothing</li><li>Connect with the community through shared creative activity</li></ul> The event will also include an opportunity to provide feedback on Metro Vancouver’s updated solid waste management plan with a focus on textile reduction and reuse.
