Join us for an online workshop to refine your professional artist statement writing abilities in your own voice, to best reflect your work.

State it Write: Developing Your Design StatementThis workshop outlines a process of reflection and articulation that will guide designers to write about their work. The goal is to enable participants to express; in their own voice, the uniqueness of their approach, while also helping them move forward creatively. Instructor Lyla Rye will begin with statement guidelines and discussion about the act of writing, as a creative. Participants will be provided with examples, resources and have the task of writing broken down into manageable components.The only way to access the course is at the allotted course start time on Zoom. A link or video for the course will not be provided to any participants who miss the course or who do not log on at the appropriate time.If you are purchasing a student ticket, current and valid proof of enrollment must be emailed to learning@caftcad.com no later than Sunday, May 24. Eventbrite&#x27;s fee is nonrefundable.ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORLyla Rye began her studies in architecture, then switcher her focus to the visual arts for a BFA at York University and then an MFA at the San Francisco Art Institute. Her practice is focused on installation, video and photography. Lyla has been exhibiting across Canada and internationally for 30 years. In this time, she has also taught at many universities and colleges including Queen’s University, OCADU and Sheridan College. For the past 8 years, she has been working with artists and designers to develop their creative and professional practice through Mentor Lyla Rye.
