The Civic Orchestra of Victoria presents Celebrating Home - a concert which offers a selection of works written by composers about their own countries. Together we will take a journey viewing the homelands of Sibelius, Dvořák, Coulthard, and Brahms through their own musical interpretations. In Prayer for Elizabeth by Jean Coulthard one may even find a nod to Canada and our history. The Civic Orchestra is delighted to take you on this international music journey at the Dave Dunnet Theatre in Oak Bay on May 27th.

About the organizer
Inaugurated in 1983, the Civic Orchestra of Victoria is a not-for-profit volunteer organization dedicated to providing accessible concerts to the Greater Victoria community, as well as an opportunity for musicians of varying ages and abilities to perform a wide repertoire of orchestral music. The orchestra also serves as a platform for aspiring soloists and directors, as well as choral groups, both as a learning experience and for the enjoyment of its members. Orchestra members are comprised of current and retired music professionals, talented young people, and community members who enjoy playing together.
