Coalition of Muslim Women of KW

The Coalition of Muslim Women of KW is very pleased to announce its second annual Muslim Women Art Exhibition Celebrating Identity as part of Canada / Ontario 150 celebrations.
This is the second annual art exhibition showcasing the art work of immigrant Muslim women artists, with a particular focus on engaging young women.
The theme of the exhibition will be celebrating the beautiful yet complex, multi-layered identities that often exist in first generation immigrants with a focus on what it means to be a Canadian and Ontarian for these newcomer Muslim women artists.
October has been proclaimed as Islamic History month by Canadian Parliament and Islamic Heritage month by the Parliament of Ontario. October is also Women’s History month in Canada. Having the exhibition in the month of October will allow the artists and visitors to draw upon these three major events: Canada and Ontario's 150th celebration, Islamic History Month celebrations and Women's History Month's celebrations, all very relevant to the newcomer Muslim women artists.
We encourage all of our community members to come out and support the local artists and celebrate Ontario 150, Islamic History month and Women’s History month through this art exhibition. To reserve your spot please register through eventbrite by using this link;
