Each participant will learn to lap the backs, establish a primary bevel and put a secondary bevel on their tools. We will start off the workshop with a discussion on the theory and application of edge tools. We will provide a detailed explanation of sharpening tools and techniques. We will then focus on: sharpening media, their use and maintenance, sharpening tools and accessories, the sharpening process, and how to use and maintain a newly sharpened tool. Our instructor, Chris, is a fine furniture maker who has been utilizing hand tools for over a decade. He knows that a sharp edge maximizes the performance, accuracy, safety, and joy of woodworking. A quality finish begins with the sharpness of your tool. He is excited to share his knowledge with you in this workshop.NOTES:a) Workshops are transferable to another person and only refundable if we have people on the waiting list who can take your spot.
