Code Winery Tasting Experience

Code Winery Tasting Experience

Metro Liquor TrainstationKelowna, BC
Thursday, Mar 19 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Overview

Join Metro Liquor for an exclusive Code Winery tasting experience hosted by Shay Code of Code Winery.

Shay and his family are farmers, owners and wine makers. Or as the French say, vignerons. Farming heritage runs deep in their genes. Their ancestors farmed in Ireland and brought their craft to Canada to establish prairie homesteads. Shay grew up working on his family farm in Saskatchewan and wanted to eventually return to the land. For many years, they contemplated on how to combine their love of the land and enjoyment of wine. Their path eventually led them to the Okanagan Valley.

They purchased the site in 2016 and planted the initial vines in 2017. It's been a family endeavor from the start, with many weekends and vacations spent in the vineyard establishing the vines. In 2021, after completing the construction of their home and small winery building, they moved to the vineyard site full-time. Their first crush was in 2019 and produced their wine with Dylan and Penelope Roche on the Naramata bench. Then, in 2022, they produced their first crush at their new facility!
