Our mission is to make science engaging, comprehensible and accessible to the general public.  We aim to increase science literacy and foster critical thinking about scientific issues.  We provide opportunities for members of the community to engage in science through hands-on work and discussion.  We support scientists in effectively communicating about their research.  We offer students new opportunities for experiential learning through science outreach.  We are guided by principles of diversity and inclusivity in every aspect of our work.

SciXchange at Toronto Metropolitan University

Join us as we participate in <A HREF="https://hourofcode.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Hour of Code</A>, a global movement that reaches millions of people in over 180 countries.
Coding is an accessible skill that everyone can learn. This event will give you hands-on experience and raise awareness of the importance of computer science as it helps nurture problem-solving skills, logic and creativity.
No coding experience is necessary. 
After the session there will be an opportunity to network and mingle with other professionals while sipping on cocktails (cash bar).  Non-alcoholic drinks will be available.
Event check-in opens at 6:30 pm.  Coding begins at 7, and is followed by a networking reception at 8.
