A series of outdoor public events hosted by the Blackwood and led by local artists, researchers, community organizers, knowledge-keepers, and educators of various backgrounds.

How are researchers and educators collaborating beyond post-secondary institutions? Contributors to this discussion outline their methodologies, ethics, and practices for community-engaged research and learning. Sherry Fukuzawa, Councillor Veronica King-Jamieson, and Elder Garry Sault of the Indigenous Action Group, a collaboration between University of Toronto Mississauga and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, will discuss the development of their partnership. Miranda Black of Water Allies at New College, University of Toronto, will discuss the group’s collaborations for water protection rooted in anti-racism and decolonization.

This event will be held rain or shine, with covered outdoor facilities available in case of inclement weather. Accessible public washrooms and seating are available. Drinks and refreshments will be provided. Physical distancing will be in place for this event, and additional safety precautions may be required in line with public health measures.
