Event description
For this family program, we invite children to join us for a creative workshop on storytelling through comic making.

About this Event

Children and families are invited to join us for an afternoon of creative story making with comic creator and local artist Nicole Wolf. From fast-paced exercises designed to explore storytelling and spark creativity, to basics like drawing panels, using word balloons and developing characters, Nicole will lead us through the stages of bringing a story to life. This workshop will give beginner and intermediate comic-makers new tools to use as they create their own stories.

Suggested for ages 10 and up, but younger siblings are welcome to join.

This workshop will happen over Zoom.

Participants will need pencils, printer paper and sharpies, markers or a solid black ink pen.

Zoom Tips:

Screen Name

For your privacy, it is recommended that you use only your first name or a screen name or nickname on Zoom. You are also encouraged to include your preferred pronouns. For example:

Eva (she/her), JoJo (they/them), Tim (he/him)

If you have never used/downloaded Zoom before on your computer or device, you will be prompted to do so once you click on the meeting link. You’ll then be asked to enter your name. This is the name that will appear on-screen to others during the meeting/webinar.

If you already have Zoom on your computer/device, you can change your name by logging in to your account. Access your Profile, and change your name (at the top).

Respect and Inclusion

By registering for this Program you agree to co-create, in collaboration with Esker Staff, Artists and Volunteers, an atmosphere of mutual inclusion and respect for all persons. This includes speaking, acting and behaving in a way that is absent of violence, harassment, racism, intimidation, bullying or discrimination of any kind regardless of, and not limited to gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, culture, age and ability.
