Looking for an outdoor event and want to make a difference to our community? Join us for a fun community cleanup day !Tzu Chi Eastern Canada will be hosting a cleanup event on September 24th at 10AM - 12PM, where we will be focusing our effort on within the Willowdale Community.Meeting location is Mel Lastman Square.We will have cleaning supplies available such as garbage bags, pickers, PPE (gloves), along with a nice snack at the end. We do encourage you to bring your water bottle and dress in weather appropriate attire .To ensure precaution is in place to keep everyone safe, we encourage that everyone who participate in this event to follow COVID-19 safety guideline by maintaining social distance, having proper PPE on (mask preferred) and disinfect frequently.Deadline to sign up is September 20th. Further instructions and details will be sent out closer to the day of the event. About Tzu Chi Eastern CanadaTzu Chi Eastern Canada is a regional office of Tzu Chi, an international humanitarian NGO with special consultative status in United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). For over 50 years, Tzu Chi focused its efforts on its Four Missions of Charity, Medicine, Education, and Humanistic Culture, which have further extended to include Bone Marrow Donation, International Relief, Environmental Protection, and Community Volunteerism.Tzu Chi volunteers worldwide actively promote recycling to the public, and set examples for others by taking action to conserve resources and reduce carbon footprint. They also encourage and guide the residents in their community to carry out eco-friendly habits and practices in their daily lives to protect the environment. In addition, Tzu Chi actively advocates a meat-free diet and promotes a simpler and more sustainable way of living.
