Community creating watercolour workshop

Come gather with us to explore and play with watercolour paints in a fun and safe space. No experience needed.

This gathering will be held on the upper seating area of Sidekick Brewing which is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible (my apologies, and if this affects your ability to attend please reach out and I would love to arrange a class that is accessible for you!). I've partnered with Sidekick Brewing to support this amazing local business- I would highly recommend you try their delicious drinks and food! All supplies will be provided, please arrive a couple minutes early as the class will start promptly at 6:00. During this workshop we will start with an activity that introduces you to the medium of watercolour, allowing you to get comfortable with its properties. We will then explore different techniques to create texture, blending colours and playing with patterns. Combining these elements we will have the opportunity to create a final piece of art. Everyone's will be unique, so if there is something you have in mind for inspiration please collect images and bring them on your phone. This class is an exploration of art as play, where we remove our expectation of what the finished piece will look like and instead embrace the letting go and childlike wonder of art making.
